Max A8 Firmware Update


 

Max S8 Firmware Update - Update via Octopus NET

Telnet Access:

Destination: IP Address of the Octopus NET (eg. 192.168.178.10)
Port: 23
User: root
Password: Not required


MAX S8 Versions Check

Enter the following commands direct after acces via Telnet client to check the Version of installed Firmware:

dmesg | grep "GTL HW"

Sample Output (Older Firmware):

 DDBridge: GTL HW 01010007 REGMAP 00010001

Latest Version: HW 0201000c
Update only the firmware, if the installed firmware is different.


Update process for Max S8:


Enter the following commands (line for line) directly in the console:

wget http://ddonet.digital-devices.eu/mxl_update/s8_1.12-hw0101000c/DVBBridgeV2A_DD01_0007_MXL.fpga

ddtest -l 1 flashp DVBBridgeV2A_DD01_0007_MXL.fpga

​poweroff

Wait a few seconds, Octopus NET will turn off now. Turn on the Octopus NET again, this could need up to 3 minutes.
After Reboot you can check on the same way the firmware status again.

 

 



Max S8 Firmware Update - Update via Linux
Note: the dddvb driver must be built before you can update the firmware.

 

Note: install only the Max S8 which you want to update in the PC and no other cards from Digital Devices !!!


Max S8 Versions Check

Enter the following commands direct in the console:

dmesg | grep “DDBridge: HW”

Sample Output (Older Firmware):

 DDBridge: HW 01010007 REGMAP 00010001

Latest Version: HW 0201000c
Update only the firmware, if the installed firmware is different.


Update process for Max S8:

Power off the PC and remove all TV cards and install only the Max S8 which you want to update and start the PC again

In the dddvb driver folder you will found a folder names “apps”, so move to it (eg. /usr/src/dddvb-0.9.xx/apps).

Download the firmware with:

wget http://ddonet.digital-devices.eu/mxl_update/s8_1.12-hw0101000c/DVBBridgeV2A_DD01_0007_MXL.fpga

Update the firmware with:

ddtest flashprog DVBBridgeV2A_DD01_0007_MXL.fpga

After flashing is done you must power off your PC. (Only a reboot is not enough, a complete power off is required)

Wait 10 sec. and then start your PC.

After Reboot you can check on the same way the firmware status again.

 


 

Max S8 Firmware Update - Update via Windows
Note: An Update under Windows requires Driver x.x.x.139 or higher

Latest Version: 1.12a / 1.12b
Update only the firmware, if the installed firmware is different.
 
 
Update process for Max S8:

Wait a few seconds, Octopus NET will turn off now. Turn on the Octopus NET again, this could need up to 3 minutes.
